Mission

The Autonomous Systems Prototyping Engineer contributes to the development of advanced defence technologies within Golem Innovation, transforming operational challenges into functional prototypes and deployable systems.

The role focuses on the design and prototyping of unmanned platforms, autonomous systems, specialized robotics, and sensor-integrated devices capable of operating in demanding environments where conventional technological solutions are insufficient.

Working closely with operational teams, engineers, and external partners, the position ensures that technological innovation remains grounded in real-world constraints and operational requirements.

Responsibilities

 • Design and prototype autonomous and unmanned systems for complex operational environments
• Contribute to the development of robotics platforms including aerial, ground, and specialised robotic systems
• Integrate sensors, control systems, and embedded electronics into experimental platforms
• Translate operational requirements into engineering specifications and working prototypes
• Conduct iterative testing and validation of robotic systems in laboratory and field environments
• Collaborate with engineering partners, research institutions, and specialised technical teams
• Document development processes and contribute to the transition of successful prototypes toward deployable solutions

Expectations

Candidates must demonstrate strong engineering capability together with practical experience in robotics, autonomous systems, or advanced hardware prototyping.

Experience in defence technology, unmanned systems, drone platforms, embedded systems, robotics engineering, or experimental hardware development is highly valued.

The role requires creativity grounded in engineering discipline and the ability to transform conceptual ideas into reliable prototypes.

Familiarity with sensor integration, control systems, microcontrollers, rapid prototyping methods, and field testing of robotic platforms is considered a strong advantage.

The ability to work responsibly on technologies intended for demanding operational environments is essential.
